hand lettering

Isn't hand lettering gorgeous? I really love it and am so honoured to be able to share that with students in the near future. Here's a little something I threw together while I ate my lunch today:

Doodling... I'm trying very hard to get better at doodling. Do you have a website suggestion for me? Somewhere I can learn how to become a better doodler?

Creative Lettering!

I have some very exciting news!! In the next couple months I'll be teaching a Creative Hand Lettering class at The Inked Stamper here in St. Albert. If you would like me to let you know when the date is chosen, please comment below and I'll be sure to let you know first!

what have I been up to?

Finally, I took a few moments to take some pictures of what I've been up to recently:

This is the start of a project I'm working on for my girls. I'll post again when it's complete:

And another, not yet complete, will post again when finished:

Sometimes a journal page turns out 'ugly' and it's not something that makes me feel inspired to do anything else to. Thanks to collage it's much better:

I spent last weekend at a weekend crop. It was my first time doing something like this and I had the greatest time, making new friends and playing in my journal all weekend without any responsibilities. Just a bit of doodling and lettering:

And playing with Prima dolls:

I've been asked if I would like to teach a hand lettering class and also asked by someone else over the weekend if I'd consider doing an Art Journal class. Now I just need to take the time to 'build' the classes and see if I have the confidence in my own work to do such a thing.

time flies...

I have to apologise. It's been MONTHS since I've been here. Carpal Tunnel release surgery on both wrists caused me to put down the journal for a few months while I healed. Then, you know how it is, you stop doing something and you find something else to fill that time with. So I finally pulled out the journal(s) again and here I am.
Last Christmas my sister made me some vinyls for my kitchen walls to match the ones she made for me at our last house. We finally got around to putting them up and I must say, they are amazing!! (Excuse the mess)

Before I really jumped back into journalling, I had to make myself a little pouch to carry my coloured pencils and pens in when I take my journal with me. I'm so proud of my little pouch that I designed myself and sewed without experience:
...and my love for Joanne Sharpe continues. I'm taking both her Draw Your Awesome Year and Draw Your Awesome Life classes online.
I have to take the time to take pics of what I've been up to. I'll try to do that tonight so I can catch you up on my last couple of weeks back into art journaling!
